Pre-rinse
Before shampooing the hair it is very important to pre-rinse for a minimum of 3 minutes. This ensures the hair is completely saturated to prevent the shampoo from burning it. Hot water can also be very damaging to the hair. Decrease the water temperature after each shampoo application.

Towel Drying
When towel drying the hair, gently squeeze out excess water with the hands. Blot the hair with the towel. Wet hair should never be twisted or rubbed with a towel, because it is more susceptible to breakage.

Shampoo Procedure:

You’ll need:
Shampoo
Towel
½ cup of vinegar added to 32 ounces of lukewarm water – vinegar water removes soap curds from hair, preventing dullness and dryness.

Directions:

  1. Massage the scalp for 5 minutes with balls of fingers to loosen, relax and stimulate the blood flow to the scalp – this helps promote growth.
  2. Pre-rinse hair for a minimum of 3 minutes to completely saturate the hair.
  3. Apply shampoo and gently massage into hair, keeping hair between fingers and massaging your scalp with balls of fingers – massaging your scalp with your fingernails causes damage to the scalp.
  4. Rinse shampoo for a minimum of 3 minutes, repeat step 2.
  5. If hair is extra dirty re-apply shampoo a third time and immediately rinse for 3 additional minutes.
  6. Pour vinegar water over hair – if you have very long, or thick hair you will need a second application of vinegar water.
  7. Apply conditioner.
